Fairtrade partners ITE to host construction exhibition in Lagos

As part of efforts to chart a new course for the construction industry in Nigeria, Fairtrade GmbH & Co. KG and ITE Group Plc, trade show specialists, has announced plans to hold the first edition of AfricaBuild Lagos, an international building and construction exhibition.

In a statement released by the event organizers, the event which will take place between Tuesday 16th to Thursday 18th August, 2016 at the Landmark Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos, is expected to bring together major players in the construction and building, and profession alongside manufacturers from within and outside Nigeria as they deliberate on issues concerning the construction industry, explore the best options that Nigeria has to offer, and discuss the way forward for the industry.

Regional Industry Director, ITE Build & Interiors Division, Darryl Pawsey, said; “The 2016 launch of AfricaBuild Lagos is intended to stimulate international investment into Nigerian construction and capitalize on the lack of international players in this unsaturated, growing market.

“It is incredibly exciting that for a launch event we have secured such a high number and diverse selection of international brands which indicates a positive outlook for the future of the show. More than 85 exhibitors from 14 countries will display all of the latest in construction machinery and technology, building equipment and tools, building materials and interior finishing materials. The exhibitors come from Austria, China, France, Germany, Ghana, Italy, Nigeria, Poland, Spain, South Africa, Turkey and United Arab Emirates.”

Also speaking, Director General, Federation of Construction Industry Nigeria (FOCI), Olubunmi Adekoje, said; “FOCI is delighted to support AfricaBuild Lagos as Institutional Partner. We are looking forward to fruitful discussions between the international construction community and the Nigerian businesses.”

In addition, AfricaBuild Lagos 2016 will also contribute ideas and solutions for five of the most exciting building projects in Nigeria namely; Eko Atlantic City, Lagos, Centenary City, Abuja, Airport Expansions in Lagos, Abuja, Enugu, Kano and Port Harcourt, World Trade Centre, Abuja, and the Aba Mega Mall, Aba.
